Speakers Announced for MS Care Centre Lunch

Mary O Rourke and Conor Devine guest speakers this year!

Now in its fourth year our MS Care Centre Corporate lunch will take place on Friday, 16th May at the Four Seasons Hotel, Dublin.

We are delighted to announce this year’s speakers as:

  • Author and former Senator Mary O’Rourke 
  • Entrepreneur Conor Devine

Guests will be treated to a four course artisan lunch, entertaining speakers and a lively auction and raffle.

Mary O Rourke

Mary O Rourke (née Lenihan) worked as a secondary school teacher before beginning her political career, starting in local politics. She was first elected to the Dáil in 1982 as Fianna Fáil TD for Longford/Westmeath.

In her 2012 memoir, Just Mary: My Memoir, she describes life as a woman in the male-dominated world of politics, the sexism she sometimes had to deal with and the difficulties of balancing her busy career with raising a family. The No 1 best-seller won the Listeners Choice Award at the 2012 BGE Irish Book Awards.

Conor is an innovator, thinker, triathlete, personal development junkie and passionate MS awareness campaigner. Sport and competition has been a major part of Conor’s life and he believes fitness and healthy lifestyle helps him beat MS every single day.

Conor believes that you can in fact achieve and reach your dreams and goals. He describes himself as a dreamer and believes that absolutely everything is possible.

All proceeds from the event will go to the MS Care Centre in Dublin 6, Ireland's only dedicated respite and therapy centre for people with Multiple Sclerosis. It offers short-term respite care, therapeutic services, neurological assessments and many social activities to provide rest and relaxation for both the person with MS and their carer or family. Each week twelve residents enjoy a number of social and therapeutic activities such as specialised physiotherapy, occupational therapy, yoga, massage and a personalised nursing assessment. It truly is a life-changing service.
