  • Women's Issues

MS affects more women than men and is most frequently diagnosed in women in their twenties and thirties. It is not known why this is the case and the reasons are thought to be complex.

There are a number of issues that specifically concern women with MS.

    Why are more women affected?

    Do hormones play a role?

    Does menstruation make symptoms worse?

Will medications affect my ability to become pregnant?

Will the condition affect pregnancy or childbirth?

Will MS impact on hormone replacement therapy and the symptoms of menopause?
