About Volunteering in the care centre

What is involved in volunteering in the Care Centre?

Volunteering in the Care Centre involves providing compassionate, person-centred support to individuals living with MS.

Volunteers may:

  • Engage residents in recreational and therapeutic programmes
  • Offer companionship and a listening ear
  • Contribute to the overall warm and welcoming atmosphere of the Centre

Requirements vary depending on the specific volunteering role. However, common requirements across all Care Centre volunteering roles include:

Apply to volunteer in the Care Centre

Once you have completed the form, a staff member will be in contact with you.

The process of becoming a volunteer usually involves:

  1. Completing an application form
  2. Informal interview with a member of our team
  3. A Garda vetting invite form will be sent. The vetting process requires two forms of identification (one photographic, one proof of address).
  4. References are checked. We request two references on our application form.
  5. The staff team will provide an induction and any training relevant to your role.
  6. You are then ready to begin your role as a valued member of the team.
