International Campaigns
MS Ireland is part of a global movement working to improve the lives of people affected by multiple sclerosis. Through international campaigns, we join organisations around the world to raise awareness, share knowledge and advocate for better support, treatment and understanding of MS.
These campaigns bring the global MS community together — amplifying voices, challenging misconceptions and driving positive change.
World MS Day May 30
World MS Day takes place on 30 May each year and is the most recognised global awareness campaign for multiple sclerosis.
It brings together individuals, families, advocates and organisations across the world to:
- share personal stories,
- raise awareness of MS,
- campaign for change,
- and build a stronger, more connected community.
World MS Day 2026
The 2026 campaign continues to highlight the diverse experiences of people living with MS and the importance of community, connection and support.

Past World MS Day Campaigns
Each year, World MS Day focuses on a different theme to highlight key issues affecting the MS community.
2019 – #MyInvisibleMS
The My Invisible MS campaign focused on raising awareness of the invisible symptoms of MS and the unseen impact the condition can have on daily life.
It gave people living with MS a platform to:
- share their experiences,
- express what they want others to understand,
- and challenge common misconceptions about the condition.
This global campaign helped improve understanding of symptoms such as fatigue, pain, cognitive challenges and mental health impacts — many of which are not immediately visible.
Atlas of MS
The Atlas of MS is a global research initiative examining the prevalence of multiple sclerosis and the availability of resources for people living with MS worldwide.
First launched in 2008 by the MS International Federation (MSIF) and the World Health Organization (WHO), the Atlas provides valuable insights into:
- how many people are living with MS globally,
- access to treatment and care,
- and gaps in services across different regions.
MS Ireland contributes to this important work, helping to build a clearer picture of MS on a global scale and support better planning and advocacy.
