The event was helped along by a few very special guests. The Louth and Meath Roses paid a visit to support their counties in this delicious undertaking while the Cookie Monster was on hand to ask people to donate money for local support services provided by MS Ireland. Louth county players Derek Maguire and Andy McDonnell and Meath county player Paddy O’Rourke were at the event representing the two counties embroiled in this highly anticipated replay! Two teams of ten students took part in the three minute cookie eating contest, while a large gathering of fellow DkIT students looked on at the hilarious sights of Team Meath and Team Louth’s fight to the crumbly end. In the end, the Louth boys claimed the victory managing to eat a highly impressive 200 cookies in two minutes, thirty seconds. What a triumph! For all their efforts, over €500 was raised for the McVitie’s Cookies That Care fund and we can now say with some certainty that the Wee County itself, Louth, is the winner in this replay!
