MS Ireland has partnered with Sanofi Genzyme on The World vs.MS, a new, socially-driven initiative that aims to drive meaningful change in the lives of people living with MS and those who support them. By understanding their challenges, connecting people and driving innovation, our mission is to improve their everyday life.
After receiving a huge 103 challenges of living with MS from people all over the world, the final three challenges have been shortlisted by The World vs.MS Steering Committee and Judging Panel. It is now back over to the international MS community to come up with suggestions on how the challenges can be solved. Anyone can have an idea and that idea could be ‘the idea!’
Earlier this week we shared the challenge from Fernando in Spain, who struggles with bladder control.
The second challenge is from Giacomo in Italy. Giacomo’s wife Silien struggles with mobility. She’s unsure on her feet, often relying on the closest wall to find her balance, and regularly needs periods of rest. Whilst she won’t let this stop her from doing things, it does impose limits on the life they live together.
“We were both keen walkers. We would travel to different places and simply enjoy walking around. This has faded away over the years, for obvious reasons. From time to time, she regrets that.”
Download the briefing pack here to find out more about Giacomo’s challenge, how to submit an idea and how the process works.
The deadline for ideas is 25th October. The winner will gain access to up to €100,000 to turn the idea into a reality.
Keep an eye out for the third and final challenge coming soon!
