Suzanne shares her extraordinary journey — from her early mission work to living with multiple sclerosis (MS) — with moving honesty. Her story is one of strength, reflection, and a commitment to living meaningfully despite the challenges of MS.
In 1977, Suzanne joined the Mercy Sisters, dedicating her life to service. She went on to earn a degree and Higher Diploma in Education from Maynooth, before answering a call to missionary work in Peru.
It was during her time in Peru that Suzanne began to experience the first symptoms of MS. She eventually returned to Ireland for a diagnosis. Uniquely, Suzanne was already familiar with the condition — five members of her extended family also live with MS.
