Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) set up National Mobility Centre

The issue of mobility is very central to the quality of life of some people with MS. The Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) set up its National Mobility Centre in order to address the requirements of people with disabilities who wish to drive or be carried as passengers.

The centre is based in Clane, Co Kildare and it provides a nationwide driving assessment and tuition service. This service allows people the opportunity to learn to drive for the first time, or return to driving.

In addition it provides information on a range of subjects such as:

  • VAT/VRT Relief Scheme
  • The  Motorised Transport Grant
  • Adaptations/Accessories
  • Disabled Persons Parking Permits
