MS Ireland Launches Mood and Emotions Publication

MS Ireland has launched a new publication, Mood and Emotions: Practical Living for Everyday Life with MS, at the MS Ireland National Conference, held on 15 November in Cork.

The resource focuses on the emotional impact of living with multiple sclerosis, an area that can be overlooked. Many people with MS experience changes in mood, stress levels, and emotional responses, and understanding these experiences can play a key role in managing everyday life with the condition.

A Practical Resource for Daily Living

The publication provides:

  • Information to help people recognise emotional and psychological changes
  • Clear explanations of common emotional responses linked to MS
  • Practical suggestions for managing mood and stress
  • Guidance on when and where to seek support
  • Useful insights for families, carers, and healthcare professionals

MS Ireland developed this resource with the support of Dr. Fiadhnait O’Keeffe, whose contribution was central to the project.

Supporting the MS Community

The booklet aims to offer straightforward, accessible information to help people living with MS better understand emotional wellbeing and feel more confident discussing these experiences with others.
