Paul Manning from Clare Hall Dublin has been living with MS for 17 years. After a bout of blurred vision and wobbly legs he went to the doctor for tests. He says he kind of knew about MS so he was a little prepared. Paul had being going out with Celine for only six months when they found out. But these soul mates have taken MS in their stride and after 17 years are as happy as ever.
For many years Paul’s MS didn’t impact him. It’s only in the last five years that things have started to progress. Paul has gone from being unsteady on his feet, to a crutch, to a rollator to a wheelchair in that period of time. But Paul says that moving to the wheelchair has been more enabling than disabling as he’s able to get around better.
Paul and Celine have two children, Shaun and Kerry. Shaun moved to Australia in March and Kerry is in 5th year in school. This year Kerry is helping us tell the story of MS through our video ‘My Dad Has MS’. We hope that you get an insight into life with MS and see what your money is doing to help.
