Over one hundred delegates registered for the NAI keynote conference for National Brain Awareness Week "Securing Resources for Neurological Care and Rehabilitation in a Recession" on Tuesday 6th March in the Radisson Hotel Dublin

Opening the conference, Mr Chris Macey, Chair of NAI, spoke of the effectiveness of non statutory organisations as advocates for change, as service providers and as key partners in transforming neurological care services.

This was followed by presentations from the clinical directors of each of the national programmes in:

-Stroke

-Neurology

-Rehabilitation

-Epilepsy

The afternoon session focused on supporting non statutory organisations in lobbying and campaigning with presentations from Amnesty and the Alzheimer Society of Ireland.

NAI is keen to support the work of its member organisations in their role as advocates for better neurological care services. This includes supporting and promoting the work of non statutory organisations as service providers.
