Podcast: Niall recently joined the Living with MS podcast to share why he is taking on this challenge, reflect on 20 years of living with MS, and talk about adapting to changes in his mobility.

The challenge marks a very personal milestone for Niall, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis 20 years ago. MS predominantly affects Niall’s left leg, which means he can no longer run or play sports and can only walk moderate distances without a walking aid. During the cycle, his right leg will have to do much of the work as he takes on the length of Ireland alongside his friends.
Niall will be joined by Brian Dorgan, Conor O’Malley, Garrett Power, Liam Tyrrell and Vinny Flood, with Alan O’Carroll supporting the group on the road. The team, known as Porto Peloton, will cycle from Mizen Head to Malin Head via Tralee, Spanish Point, Galway, Westport, Sligo and Letterkenny.
Niall’s friends describe him as an inspiration, noting his positive outlook and resilience over the past 20 years. This challenge is not only a tribute to Niall’s strength, but also a way to support others living with MS across Ireland.
Speaking about the challenge, the team said:
“We’ll be raising money for MS Ireland, who provide information, support and resources to people affected by MS, and would hugely appreciate any support you can give.”

Update
The team will depart from Mizen Head on Monday, 10 August, and are due to arrive at Malin Head on Sunday, 16 August, completing their cycle the length of Ireland in support of MS Ireland.
