The Fermoy Multiple Sclerosis Society ( incorporating Youghal, Midleton, Fermoy, Mitchelstown, Mallow and surrounding areas) held their Annual General Meeting at the Fermoy Education Centre on Sunday, 22nd February at 2.30pm.
The Chairperson Mary Sheahan Lonergan, Secretary Mary Crotty and Treasurer Marie Cronin, each in turn gave commendable comprehensive reports on the year just past. William Lonergan competly presided over the election of Officers for 2015.
Our guest speaker, Ava Battles CE of MS Ireland gave a resounding oration on the workings of the organisation followed by a Q&A session giving all those present an opportunity to ask questions.
Other guests attending on the day included,Carmel Coughlan from our local Regional Office in Cork who was on hand to answer any questions in relation to living with MS.
It was heartening to see it so well attended with many members coming along to show their support and give input on the day.
A huge THANK YOU to Dave Ryan of Amber for providing the refreshments and also to the Fermoy Education Centre for the use of their facilities on the day. Another special thank you to Majella Fitzgerald and the hard working committee members for all their help on the day.
Our new committee officers elected for 2015 are as follows: Chairperson Mary Sheahan Lonergan, Vice Chairperson Ciaran Goulding, Secretary Mary Crotty, Assistant Secretary Claire Lonergan, Treasurer Marie Cronin, Assistant Treasurer Majella Fitzgerald, PRO Eleanor Duggan. Delegate to Council, Eleanor Duggan and Mary Sheahan Lonergan.
