In the last 25 years millions of kids have raised millions of euros (and pounds in the day) to help and support people with MS in Ireland. Without so many wonderful kids, teens, teachers, librarians and sponsors we would not be able to do what we do. A huge, massive, gigantic thank you to everyone who has ever taken part. You have made a difference.
To help us celebrate our birthday why not send us a birthday card or message? Or leave a nomination for your favourite children’s book of the last 25 years. Voting will begin on the 12th of October so make sure your book appears on the list!
Since 1987 we’ve had some great campaigns and some exceptional campaigns. Celebrities, sporting stars, sponsors, kids and teachers from all around Ireland have helped make each campaign special. Some of our favourite highlights include:
- 1987 - Ronald Dahl launches the first MS READaTHON
- 1992 – ‘Burnt Out Teacher’ Award presented
- 1995 – A MS READaTHON time capsule was buried, to be opened in 2045
- 2004 – Ryan Tubridy and Laura Woods launch the MS READaTHON
- 2011 – Abigail’s Story: My Mum Has MS launches to explain what MS is like within a family
