Mental Health of People with MS in Ireland: Call for Participants

We are currently seeking people living with MS in Ireland to take part in an anonymous survey to explore experiences and support needs in relation to mental health.

This is because we know that, as well as leading to various physical health symptoms, MS may also impact mental health in many different ways. We are conducting this research as we want to understand what is needed to improve mental health supports for people living with MS in Ireland.

How to Take Part

Questions on the survey ask about your background, your MS, your mental health and the supports you have engaged with (if any) for your mental health.

Completion of the whole survey will take about 20 minutes, but you do not need to do this all in one sitting. Please access more information about the survey and to take part.

Note: While the survey is online, we can make paper copies available to you if this is more convenient. If so, please contact Euan MacKay (euanm@ms-society.ie) at MS Ireland if you would prefer this option.

About the PROMISE Project

This survey is being conducted as part of the PROMISE project (Improving Mental Health Supports for People with Multiple Sclerosis in Ireland) which is jointly led by Dr Rebecca Maguire, a person with MS working in the Department of Psychology, Maynooth University, and MS Ireland.

PROMISE also involves a wider team of researchers, clinicians, and people with MS from across the country. Findings will be used to inform the development of services and advocacy efforts by MS Ireland in relation to mental health.

If you have any questions about the PROMISE project, please contact Dr Rebecca Maguire (rebecca.maguire@mu.ie) or postdoctoral researcher Dr Austin Fahy (austin.fahy@mu.ie).
