At MS Ireland’s National Meeting Day in the Hilton Hotel, Dublin two exceptional members of MS Ireland were awarded our coveted national awards. MS Person of the Year, MS Volunteer of the Year and MS Carer of the Year recognise the contribution our members make in the lives of their family, community and the Society.
MS Ireland was delighted to present the following people with their awards:
Marcie Collier from Meath was awarded MS Person of the Year. Marcie was nominated by Annette Leonard of the Meath Branch. Annette says in her nomination:
"Marcie is proof of the benefits of a positive attitude, an inspiration to anyone believing that MS might impede ambition and evidence that cultivating friendships and networking opens all sorts of doors.”
Norah Seville from Mayo was awarded MS Carer of the Year. Norah was nominated by Rosie Lowe and supported by South Mayo Branch Members.
This remarkable woman has travelled along one of life’s toughest roads. Her beloved husband Sydney was diagnosed with MS early into their marriage. Read more
Paddy Garvey from Leitrim was awarded MS Volunteer of the Year.
Paddy was nominated by the staff team in the Northwest office. In their nomination they say of Paddy:
“He is an absolute gentleman, camera shy and likes to stay in the background. He was the instigator for the Leitrim Bus by sourcing funds to buy a bus for the Branch. He volunteers his time to drive the Bus and transports members to the MS Care Centre in Dublin and to various other activities/events throughout the country.”
MS Ireland would like to congratulate Marcie, Norah and Paddy on their awards and to thank them for all they have done for the Society, their local community and their families.
