Move 4 Parkinsons in association with Cure Parkinsons Trsut/Parkinsons Movement are hosting a Patient Empowerment Day on 20th June 2012. This is organised to coincide with the International Movement Disorder Conference being held in Dublin. The purpose of the day is to introduce people with Parkinsons disease to the concept of empowerment and practical ways to improve their quality of life.

The World Health Organisation has warned that cases of dementia are set to soar in the coming decades. Some 35.6 million people were living with dementia in 2010 but that figure is set to double to 65.7 million by 2030.
The Neurological Alliance of Ireland (NAI) and Care Alliance are carrying out a survey of carers of people with neurological conditions.The results will be published during Carers Week this June. The NAI is an umbrella group of over 30 neurological charities and Care Alliance is the national umbrella for organisations representing family carers.
