The MS Ireland Annual Awards 2024 were celebrated in style at the gala dinner in Monaghan, held on the eve of the National Conference. The event recognised the extraordinary efforts and achievements of individuals and groups who have made a lasting impact on the MS community.
Joan Alaboson, a third-year PhD student in the Department of Psychology at Maynooth University, under the supervision of Drs. Rebecca Maguire and Laura Coffey, is conducting a study in collaboration with a panel of individuals living with MS. Weekly Yoga classes for people with MS - A course for people with MS to experience Yoga as a way of supporting positive health & well-being. Classes are held in Carrickpherish Library, Waterford. Weekly Physiotherapist led Exercise Classes for people with MS – a course for people with MS to experience exercise as a way of supporting positive health and wellbeing. When the Aer Lingus flight attendant closed the airplane door on our Boston to Dublin flight in November 2012, I turned off my mobile phone and never turned it back on. It wasn’t a conscious decision to never be tethered to a device again as we settled in for our transatlantic redeye flight. But it eventually became my choice… and that’s an important distinction for someone living with multiple sclerosis.
