MS and me look back part 2

For the second part in our look back series , this week we are looking back on the MS and Me blog posts from July to December 2021.

MRIs are part and parcel of life with MS, and Joan wrote about her experiences during and after her time in the scanner. Rosie, Ciara and Niamh wrote about their canine companions and the joy of those connections. It’s fair to say there are a lot of MS and Me pets! Mary shared about how MS can impact us emotionally, a side of the illness that isn’t often talked about.

Like a lot of us, Lauren was hoping we’d be back on our Ryanair flights to sunnier climes by September. It wasn’t to be, but her 10 Tips for managing MS while on holiday is a handy checklist for any upcoming trips. Ciara wrote about the often-spoken words from well meaning friends – “but you look great”

Maggie and her children were getting ready for ‘Back to School’, and she shared their experiences of having a parent with MS.

Willeke shared her suggestions for preparing for a Neurology Appointment, to get the most out of your time with your neurology team. Sarah wrote about benefits she gets from exercise and her mantra of “energy creates energy” was a great suggestion. For when we aren’t feeling as energetic, Christine shared some books where the main character has MS. Our dear pal Declan wrote a wonderful guest blog about the Wheelathon he completed around Cork City centre in his wheelchair.

Dearbhla rounded off the month with a powerful piece highligting the importance of Disability Activism.
