The important role of yoga in living well with MS
I live in New York now, all four years of my time here residing in Manhattan's east village. My average day is very simple really. I like to be at my desk by 9am. It's a 25 minute cycle to my studio in Brooklyn. I check my emails with a cup of tea first thing and then I start to draw in my sketchbooks. I draw until it's time to cycle home for my dinner.
I have been working with fair trade for the last ten years, before i began writing books. I began as a volunteer with a Fair Trade company called People Tree and I was very inspired by the work that they do.
I was designing toys and t-shirts and other things with them. Later after the publication of my books it seemed obvious to do some fair trade projects with the characters from them. Since the launch of A BIT LOST I spent more than 10 months living in Nepal and India to work together with Fair Trade projects and create toys made by women's shelters.
I had an amazing time traveling and living there and actually wrote Oh No George, my second book there during that time too.
Well what can we say about our competitions this year? We are just overwhelmed by the enthusiasm each of you have shown and cannot believe the creativitiy that so clearly exists in kids and teens right across Ireland. We think our little country has a very bright future!
