The State and many of its agencies assist with the financial cost of living with MS, both for the person with MS and the carer. The list of entitlements below is just a brief overview of some of the entitlements and benefits a person with MS/carer may be entitled to.

People with MS may be entitled to some of the following benefits – however, many of these are means tested.

Many people who provide medical, social or therapeutic services to people with MS are part of what is termed the Health Care Team or Multi-Disciplinary Team. In MS, a coordinated approach to managing the various affect of MS can prove most beneficial. Therefore making the best use of specialists in different fields or disciplines will capitalise on your treatments and interventions.
